Brookside Energy assessment of the secondary target sand in the Simpson Group revealed a peak rate of 258 BOEPD. The area has been temporarily sealed off, and production plans are currently being optimised based on the performance of both this production test and the production test that was conducted on a lower horizon earlier in the year.
Shareholders and investors of Brookside Energy Limited (ASX: BRK) will be glad to learn that the company has increased its Bradbury Area of Interest in the Ardmore Basin of the Arbuckle Uplift in Oklahoma.
The Juanita Well has been successfully testing production of a secondary target sand in the Simpson Group, with a peak production test rate of 258 BOEPD (78% Oil). Black Mesa is currently optimising development possibilities for this zone and a lower zone that tested at a peak production rate of 329 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD) (75% Oil) due to the positive outcome of these production tests.
According to the current plan, it is anticipated that production will initially be concentrated on these two zones, with testing of the remaining horizons scheduled to take place at a later date.
Manager Director David Prentice added his thoughts on the matter, saying:
We are once again pleased to report these very encouraging test results from our Juanita Well, our first well in this new AOI. These results come on the back of the earlier positive results from the test of the deeper primary target. The team are now busy working on the plan to establish commercial production from these two zones and we look forward to providing further updates as production and sales are established. With a decade of successful oil and gas industry activities centred on the mid-continent region of the United States, Brookside has created deep and valued relationships in the sector.
About the Juanita Well
The Juanita Well was drilled by Dan D Drilling Rig 7 for Black Mesa Energy, LLC (a wholly owned subsidiary of Brookside) in a vertical orientation. The Juanita Well is a vertical borehole that went down an official measured 6,350 feet. With average cumulative production from vertical wells in the Bradbury formation, the Juanita Well is aiming for 10 different oil reservoirs, some of which are located in the extremely productive Simpson Group. Located largely in west-central Oklahoma, but also in the upper Texas Panhandle, southern Kansas, and south-eastern Colorado, the Anadarko Basin is a geological feature covering over 50,000 square miles.
